EEM/F Fault Finding on Electric Machines

System Description

The fault simulator for three-phase asynchronous motors can be used with all three-phase squirrel-cage motors from the LN motor program (0.3kW and 1.0kW). The fault switches are mounted in a robust, lockable steel housing, that is plugged on to the terminal board of the motor (4mm plugs). The faults are simulated without voltage being applied to the motor.

The fault simulator incorporated 12 toggle switches which, singly or combined are used to produce 50 practice-oriented fault conditions.

  4. Short-circuit to housing, coil U
  5. Short-circuit to housing, coil V
  6. Short-circuit to housing, coil W
  7. Short-circuit between windings, coil U
  8. Short-circuit between windings, coil V
  9. Short-circuit between windings, coil W
  10. Short-circuit between coils, U to V
  11. Short-circuit between coils, V to W
  12. Short-circuit between coils, U to V to W
